Herbert Marshall McLuhan also used this term in his book "The Gutenberg Galaxy: The Making of Typographic Man".
The Internet globalizes communication by providing opportunity to people from around the world to connect with each other. Likewise, web-connected computers enable people to link their web sites together. An innovative medium of Internet has connected the whole world very closely. A person in America writes a mail and in less than a minute it reaches to someone in India. Similarly chats and web cam has made it possible to see people on the other side of the world and talk as if you were sitting next to each other. It took only a few years for these technological innovations spread across the world. Anyone having access to internet can communicate, shop, and even use internet banking system.
Life has become easy for many of us as we can even select life partners from around the world through internet. It is the same when it comes to information and news from different parts of the world. For instance, the 9/11 disaster was telecasted live all over the world. Tsunami that hit India, Sri Lanka and Thailand were new that spread across the world in split of seconds. People around the world came forward to help the victims by providing financial and also moral support. As soon as Katrina happened the entire world knew the damage caused by her.
